Overview
MOSH is a dance theatre show by dance artist Rachel Ní Bhraonáin. In collaboration with the photographer Richard Mooney and the director Rachel, I wanted to create an image that captured the power, velocity and joy of a mosh pit as well as the grit and DIY attitude of the heavy metal scene.
Drawing inspiration from Baroque paintings, found images of mosh pits, film posters and news reports on crowded scenes, I built the composition focussing on the emotional journey of one central character. The font took inspiration from homemade punk and metal gig flyers.
